Volkswagen Golf R Chip-Boosted to 315HP


Squeezing a few more ponies out of a new engine today is as easy as 1-2-3; all you need is to connect a computer to the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) and reprogram it with new software. The VW Golf R's 2.0-liter turbocharged four, is one such example. By tweaking the ECU, German tuner Mcchip-dkr has bumped output from 270HP and 350Nm to 315HP and 440Nm. If you're interested in the ECU upgrade, it's priced at €899, equal to about US$1,150 at today's exchange rates.

Porsche Panamera Turbo with Engine and Alloy Upgrades by Mcchip

For Porsche Panamera owners looking for a more subtle tuning touch, Germany's Mcchip has wrung a few upgrades for the sport saloon that include a reconfigured ECU, and new tire and alloy wheel combos. With the new software, the Panamera's 4.8-liter turbocharged V8 produces an output of 550 horsepower and 775Nm (571.6 lb-ft) of torque, up from the standard car's 500 HP and 700Nm.

If the Panamera Turbo is equipped with Porsche's Sportchrono package, the V8's torque is bumped to 845Nm (623.3 lb-ft). In both cases, the extra muscle results to an increase of the sport saloon's top speed by 8km/h (5mph) to 311km/h (193mph). The price for the reprogrammed ECU is set at €1,499 (US$2,230).

To complete the package, Mcchip offers Panamera customers two different sets of tires and alloy wheels from Cargraphic.

The first set includes 22-inch rims shod in Continental tires size 265/30 R22 up front and 305/25 R22 at the rear for €7,969 (approx. US$11,900), while the second set comprises of 22-inch alloys wrapped in Dunlop Sport rubber size 265/30 R22 at the front axle and 295/25 R22 at the rear axle for €8,089 (about US$ 12,000).





Mercedes-Benz C200 CDI White Series by MCCHIP

German tuning firm MCCHIP has developed an extremely mild modification package for the diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz C200 CDI with power and suspension upgrades. Thanks to the remapped engine control unit (ECU), the C200 CDI's 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel powerplant delivers an output of 170 horsepower and a maximum torque of 350Nm, up from 136HP and 270Nm respectively.

The package also includes new springs that lower the vehicle's ride height and a choice of performance wheel and tire combinations in sizes 18, 19 and 20 inches.

Audi TT RS 2.5 TSI gets MCCHIP'ed to 380HP and 400HP

The Audi TT RS 2.5 TSI may only have just been released, but tuners have already began work on the most potent version of the German sports car that is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine delivering 340HP and 450Nm of torque. One of the first kits available for the TT RS comes from MCCHIP that has retuned the 2.5 TSI's ECU for a total output of 380HP and 550Nm of torque.

Furthermore, MCCHIP said that it is preparing a Level 2 kit that will boost the five-cylinder engine's output to 400HP. In addition to the engine software upgrades, the German firm's tuning proposal for the TT RS also includes new 20-inch alloy wheels from Cargraphic wrapped in 255/30 R20 Continental rubber. The price for the Level 1 ECU upgrade is €899 while the new wheels/tires will set you back at €6.600.
