New Range Rover Evoque: First Video Footage of 3d SUV on the Move

Land Rover just released some new videos of its upcoming Evoque in motion, and it continues to convince. Interested? Hit the jump for the vids, or head over to our previous post for all the details.

Debuting at next week's Paris Auto Show as a 3-door model (the 5-door's on the way, don't fret), the new mini-Range will get turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines; the 2.2-liter diesels will come in 150-horsepower and 190-horsepower flavors, while the 2.0-liter gasoline engine will put down a still-undisclosed output (where you at, Rover?).

Paris Preshow: Range Rover Evoque Revealed in Detail, gets Four-Cylinder Turbo Engines

We've finally got some more artsy pics of the new Range Rover Evoque, which is set to be in a lot of peoples' driveways come next summer. Oh, hey, there are specs, too. Just to get the pricing issue out of the way, Rover says it'll start at £30,000 when it arrives in the UK next summer (foreign pricing to come at a later date).

The "low carbon" front-wheel drive (or optional full-time four-wheel drive) Evoque is called a "cross-coupé", and is kind of like the new-urban spiritual successor to the old 3-door Range Rover. A four-door model is also on the way (see the spy shots here), but I'll stay with the shooting brake of SUVs, thank you very much.

From the pics, you can see the divine interior - in this case coated in leather with "twin needle" stitching - houses the expected Terrain Response system, a Jag-inspired transmission knob, and all the cell/MP3 connectivity you'll ever need.

Revised 2011 Range Rover with New 313HP V8 Diesel

Didn't Land Rover introduce a facelift version of the Range Rover just over a year ago? Yes it did, but in its quest to keep up with the competition the Tatra-owned British automaker has revealed an updated 2011 model year version of its flagship 4x4.

The big news for the 2011 Range Rover is the introduction of an all-new 4.4-liter turbo diesel engine producing 313HP and 700Nm / 516.3 lb-ft of peak torque that replaces the current 3.6-liter with 271HP and 640Nm.

Project Kahn Spruces Up the Land Rover Freelander

The new Freelander is the latest Land Rover model to capture the tuning attention of Project Kahn. Inspired from the Project Kahn Range Rover Sport RS600, the Freelander RS200 receives an extensive [but definitely in good taste] cosmetic makeover.

The Freelander RS200's stance is made much more aggressive thanks to the huge 20-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in beefier rubber.

Land Rover Reveals Range_e, the Hybrid Electric Range Rover Sport

Land Rover will be putting its first dedicated hybrid model into production in 2013. The Range Rover Sport hybrid prototype shown here is named Range_e (the cutest-sounding name in just forever), and previews the diesel-electric hybrid power/drive train the rest of the world should be expecting.

If successful, expect a plug-in circa 2015 that would return 20 miles or about 32 kilometers of city driving under electric power.

Right now Land Rover is working on Rang_e's diesel-electric setup, but engineers say that a gasoline hybrid is also under developed. After all, we here in the States don't get diesel Rovers (for the life of me I don't know why).

New Land Rover Freelander 2 "White & Black": Two More Special Edition Models for the UK

It seems like Land Rover's marketing division has nothing better to do these days than to reveal special edition versions of the Freelander 2. Following the introduction of the "Sport" edition, the Brits announced the release of two new entry-level additions to the Freelander 2 range for 2010. Named "White" and "Black" for obvious reasons, the two new models will be on sale in the UK in January 2010, priced from £19,495 on-the-road.

The new Freelander 2 specials are available in an Alaska White and a Santorini Black exterior finish and both come with an Ebony cloth interior. Other standard features include start and stop system, 17-inch alloy wheels, load space cover and keyless starter button.

Both models are fitted with a six-speed manual 2.2-litre diesel powertrain, which is claimed to deliver a combined fuel economy of 42.2mpg UK which is equal to 35.2 mpg US and 6.7 lt / 100 kilometers.
