How Not to Customize Redux: 1996 Ford Taurus “Space Ship”

Do you want a car that, "look deferent and feel deferent [sic]"? If so, this Australian tuner - whose skill at vehicle modification is in line with his comprehension of the English language - has the car for you...

The third generation Ford Taurus was not a very pretty car to begin with. Its ovoid shape, which extended to the taillights, rear window and even the dashboard was not especially attractive and made the car look like it was slowly melting.

Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X Transformed into a Coupe

Just because Mitsubishi doesn't offer a coupe variant of its Lancer EVO X sports car doesn't mean one cannot be created. Found on ebay thanks to a Carscoop tipster is this one-of-a-kind Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X that has been converted into a two-door model. As you can see in the photo gallery after the break, it's an unfinished project. According to the eBay seller of the custom build, "the previous owner [of the car] no longer wants to complete it".

Pontiac Firebird-based 308 Ferrari Replica kills two nameplates with one stone

What's the deal with cheesy Pontiac-based replicas? Every time I see one, I ask myself how anyone in their right mind would ever think it's a good idea (unless purely testing one's kit building and car chopping talents). This ebay-situated Firebird-based 308 replica can be yours for the low-low price of $6,500; if you'd like to try your luck with the auction, feel free. We won't judge either way (sinner!).

Rare right-hand drive Mercedes 280SE Cabrio V8 hitting the block at Brooklands

If you like rare-ish Benzes, have a little cash laying around, and are in the mood for something right-hand drive, then you're probably already heading to the Historics at Brooklands auction coming up next month.

This gorgeous 1970 280SE 3.5 Cabrio (who doesn't love older Benzos?) is one of only 55 RHD examples ever built and is expected to bring in between £70,000-90,000, or approximately $107,000-138,000. Under the hood is a 3.5 liter V8, which means that when the car came out it got those stacked headlights, beaucoup chrome, and rode one inch lower than its 6-cylinder sibling.

For the Kid in You: A Giant Wooden Car with Chrysler V8 on (Where Else) eBay

Oh, ebay, if it weren't for you how would people even have the opportunity to get rid of the crazy things they build? This is a custom-built 2009 wooden car that is billed as "very rare" and was supposedly built by a furniture builder / car enthusiast. Oh, and get this: it's located in Hickory, North Carolina.

Powered by a Chrysler 318 and driven by an automatic transmission, the car has just over 1,800 miles on it. Its body is made of cedar, it rides on a 1986 Toyota truck frame, and the interior is just as over-the-top as the exterior. Check it out for yourself.

Knight Rider KITT Replica up for Auction on eBay

Found for sale on eBay is a reproduction -and a quite convincing one at that- of one of the biggest icons of our childhood: the Knight Industries Two Thousand, or as most of you know it, K.I.T.T.

Like the original car used in the Knight Rider series during the '80s, this here replica is based on a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am and comes with all the cosmetic bells and whistles of the TV car including the cool to look at, but far from practical, cut steering wheel and electronic displays on the dashboard that lights up like a Christmas tree.

Interested? Hyundai's i10 2010 World Cup Football Car for Sale

While we doubt any sane private buyer would care about owning a small Hyundai decked out with 'grass' bodywork and interior, a giant football and goal posts, we guess that a car dealer or a sports shop could use the car as an attention grabber for their store.

In any case, one of Hyundai's two i10 2010 World Cup promotional cars has been put up for sale on eBay with all proceeds to benefit "BEN", an automotive industry charity in the UK for those who work, or have worked, in the automotive and related industries, as well as their dependents.

eBay Find: Giugiaro's Plymouth V8-powered 1967 Ghia 450 SS Spyder

Back in the 1950s through the 1960s, a great number of Italian coachbuilders unleashed a parade of automotive classics that have withstood the test of time and continue to excite today. One of the lesser known-examples of that period is this here 1967 Ghia 450 SS Spyder, which is currently being offered for auction at eBay.

It was designed by the great Giorgetto Giugiaro and manufactured by the renowned Italian design studio and coach builder, Carrozzeria Ghia, exclusively for the American market. The 450 SS Spyder features a custom ladder-frame with power coming from Chrysler's 273-cu.in (4.5-liter) V8 engine with 235HP used in the Plymouth A-body cars of the era.

Darth Vader's Car for Sale on eBay - No, Really

It sure doesn't look like "the force is strong with this one" nowadays, but at some point, the 1983 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 pictured above was owned by none other than David Prowse, the man behind the mask and under the suit of Darth Vader in the original Star Wars trilogy. We know Darth Vader might find our lack of faith disturbing, but we always imagined his ride somewhat more sinister... If by any chance you're interested, the car is up for grabs on eBay UK with a starting bid of £650.

Street Legal Batmobile Replica from Tim Burton Films found for Sale [with Videos]

Perhaps the second best-known Batmobile after George Barris' iconic 1966 Lincoln Futura conversion from the Batman TV series is the Anton Furst Batmobile from Tim Burton's 1989 Batman and 1992 Batman Returns films. We found a rather convincing replica of that car for sale on eBay.

Not only is this example of the 1990s Batmobile nice-looking, it's also street legal - at least in the State of Ohio where the seller is based. The Bat-winged replica was built by a company named "Putsch Racing" and it makes use of a tube frame chassis with a Corvette drive-train and an independent suspension.

It comes equipped with a canopy that opens and is fitted with various gizmos including retractable machine guns that fire blanks. Hit the jump for more photos and videos of the car in motion.

eBay Find: Genaddi Corvette Z06 LSR Roadster Prototype

One of show-stoppers of the 2006 SEMA gathering in Las Vegas, the Corvette Z06-based Genaddi LSR Roadster, is now up for auction on eBay Motors. Built by the Genaddi Design Group, the one-off custom roadster ditches most of the Corvette Z06's composite and carbon fiber body panels for ones made of aluminum. It also features a rather awkward-looking new rear-end design with protruding tail lamps that bring to mind the Ferrari Enzo and a customized interior.

Killer Combo: Audi S5 Coupe in "Porsche Lime Green" Finish

Found for sale on eBay is this flamboyantly unique Audi S5 Coupe featuring a killer color combination that makes it stand out like a lime in a bowl of lemons. And this ain't no vinyl wrap; the "Porsche Lime Green" exterior finish was a special factory order that cost the owner $2,500. Open the door and you'll see why most manufacturers don't allow customers to combine certain exterior shades with certain interior colors even if they are available. More photos after the break.

Toyota MR2 Dressed Up as a Gumpert Apollo

We came across this Gumpert Apollo replica that's based on a second generation Toyota MR2 (1990-1999) on eBay. While the original mid-engined Apollo supercar gets an Audi-sourced 4.2-liter, twin-turbo V8 with 650HP or an insane 800HP in Sport form, the Toyota-based replica makes do with a modified version of the Japanese sports car's four-cylinder turbo engine, with the seller claiming it yields "255 WHP at 15psi and 303 WHP at around 19psi" on the dyno. Rare Find of the Day: Mid-Engined 1987 Zimmer Quicksilver

Here's another rare oddity found for sale on eBay Motors. The long-nose Zimmer Quicksilver is a custom made coupe with a mid-mounted V6 engine. And yes, as you may have already guessed, it's based on GM's Pontiac Fiero. The car's retro styling takes its inspiration from glitzy Lincoln and Cadillac models of the 1970s.

For those that find the current generation BMW M6 aesthetically displeasing and/or a far too common sight on the roads, you may want to take a look at this second-hand Fisker Latigo CS V10 that's offered for sale on eBay.

Ferrari 308 GTSi Owner Swaps Maranello's V8 for Pontiac Fierro's V6! [with Video]

We never cease to be amazed by the things some people do to their cars. But while we may turn a blind eye to creations such this Acura/Honda NSX turned into a Ferrari 360-lookalike or this Mazda RX-7-powered BMW E30, there's something fundamentally wrong with swapping the original 214HP 3.0-liter V8 powerhouse of a Ferrari 308 GTSi with the... Pontiac Fiero's, Chevrolet-sourced 140HP 2.8-liter V6 unit.

Qvale Mangusta for Sale on eBay: American Muscle, Italian Design

One of the 270 or so Mangusta sports cars that were produced by Qvale between 2000 and 2002 is up for sale on eBay with the current owner asking $26,500 to depart with it.

The Qvale Mangusta has quite an interesting history behind it involving many different people and companies over the years.

Designed by Marcello Gandini (notice the signature shape of the rear wheel arches), responsible for the styling of many cars including the Lamborghini Miura and Countach, Maserati Quattroporte and the first generation BMW 5er, the 2+2-seater convertible began its life at the 1996 Geneva Motor Show as the De Tomaso Bigua.

Rare Sbarro Mercedes-Benz Gullwing 116 6.9 found on eBay

Swiss coachbuilder Franco Sbarro is known all over the world for its extreme production and concept cars like the wacky Autobau supercar. However, it's not often that we find the firm's creations on eBay so we were surprised to see that one of its production cars from the 1980s is up for grabs on the auction site.

The Mercedes-Benz Gullwing 116 6.9 - we're not entirely sure about the name- is a odd-looking two-door Grand Tourer with gullwing-style doors.

Foose-Made Alfa Romeo Carabo Replica Found on eBay

Originally made for Alfa Romeo by Bertone, the (real) Carabo was built atop a chassis donated by Alfa's 33 Stradale. Packing a 230-horsepower V8, it debuted at the 1968 Paris Motor Show. But this isn't it.

Don't worry, this isn't some tacky, Fiero-based kit car, either. The guy behind this replica wanted to purchase the original from Bertone (so the ad says) but the design firm wasn't willing to part with the masterpiece, so he decided to say to hell with that and have his own built...by Sam Foose. For those who just got out of bed, that would be Chip Foose's father.
